ITC to source more products from Bengal - Business Standard

ITC Ltd plans to source potato and shrimps from West Bengal soon for its e-choupal venture. It also intends to source organic pineapple from North Bengal for its e-choupal model.
At an interactive session in Kolkata organised by the Millennium Mams, S Sivakumar, chief executive - Agri Business Division, ITC Ltd, said, We intend to source organic pineapple from North Bengal soon, which has a great demand in Europe, while shrimp sourcing from Bengal finds demand in Japan.
We also intend to set up more Choupal Fresh on a pilot basis in Bengal. Currently we have six Choupal Fresh outlets in Hyderabad and we are piloting it in Chandigarh and Pune, Sivakumar said. The company currently has 6,500 e-choupals in 10 states.
