Wills Lifestyle Presents a Theatrical Grand Finale
October 12, 2011
Rohit Gandhi-Rahul Khanna enthrall the audience with the Enchantment of Illusions at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2012
The Wills Lifestyle Grand Finale by Rohit Gandhi-Rahul Khanna based on the theme "Theatre of Illusions", brought down the curtains on Asia's biggest and India's premiere fashion & trade event Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week in New Delhi at Pragati Maidan today. ITC's premium lifestyle brand Wills Lifestyle marked their successful collaboration of five years with the renowned designer duo by associating with them to present a spectacular grand finale. A striking amalgamation of futuristic designs and elegant showmanship, the Rohit Gandhi-Rahul Khanna Grand Finale charmed the audience with mesmerizing elements of translucent fantasy threaded with an artistic display of the entrancing collection.
A larger than life theatre setup with colossal mirrors placed strategically on the entry of the elevated ramp and a smoke curtain billowing in the centre created an impression of models walking through infinity. The stage for the Wills Lifestyle Grand Finale Spring-Summer 2012 was set alive by a spectacular contemporary dance sequence by Aneesha Dalal, Shiamak Davar's star protégé, accompanied by melodious background music by Gaurav Raina of Medieval Punditz. Offset by a live symphony of violin strains and an opera performance illustrating the labor of love, models walked down the ramp in striking avant-garde designs rooted in the elegant silhouettes and intricate designs synonymous with the brand Rohit Gandhi-Rahul Khanna.
Speaking on the eve of the grand finale, Atul Chand, Divisional Chief Executive, ITC Lifestyle Retailing, said "The Wills Lifestyle Grand Finale, across editions of the event, has always set new benchmarks in terms of showcasing the best of Indian fashion celebrating novelty, style and fashion. The Grand Finale today was truly splendid and was a fitting tribute to genius of the designer duo, their creativity and technique."
He further added,"Our partnership with Rohit Gandhi-Rahul Khanna extends beyond the ramp. Today's Grand Finale collection will be retailed at the Wills Lifestyle stores across the country in summer 2012 for the style conscious fashion enthusiasts."
The Grand Finale collection incorporated intricate elements of exquisite designs and elegant fabrics like sheer silk yarns, voiles, mesh, ethereal organza and tulles rendered contemporary with metallic embellishments depicting the powerful feminity of the modern Indian Women. Monochromatic tones dominated the color palettes with ensembles in black, grey, white and ink brought alive with subtle bursts of coral and turquoise. The silhouettes were fitted yet flowing, lending an ethereal look that was edgy and yet sophisticated.
Expressing their views on the collaborative Grand finale, Rohit Gandhi-Rahul Khanna said, "We are delighted to be associated with Wills Lifestyle. This is a long-standing partnership and we have together achieved much and will continue to achieve more. The Grand Finale show created in tandem with Wills has been a pleasure to conceive and we are very grateful for the enthusiastic support we have received from the Wills Lifestyle team"
The audiences at the Wills Lifestyle Grand Finale were left spell bound as they witnessed a remarkable show by Rohit Gandhi-Rahul Khanna reminiscent of the stage performances of the yesteryears beautifully complimenting the futuristic collection.
