Cloud and mobility solutions will be ITC Infotech's top priorities going forward, said Ashwani Maheshwari, CEO of India division SBU, ITC Infotech.
ITC Infotech is working on developing a cloud-based solution for a client in India. The company, which is a 100 percent subsidiary of $7 billion ITC, focuses on PLM, Testing, BFSI and RFID areas. The company's total headcount stands at 4,500 and has been focusing on Indian market for the past two years.
Referring to margin pressure in the IT industry, Maheshwari said, "As an IT organization, we are not insulated from margin pressure and attrition. If you are addressing a mass market, there will be margin pressure. We are addressing a niche market. However, there is pressure, and we will have to give a good value proposition to sustain margins. The clients are willing to pay for value addition to their business."
IT clients are becoming more specific and now they have multiple options to choose from, if one is not able to give value addition, they are going to walk away, he said.
"Our PLM solutions are directed towards innovation. Companies normally spend on SAP, ERP, which are the second part of product development. First part is go-to-market solutions that involve lot of innovations. In India, we have about 18 clients in manufacturing vertical for PLM that has brought down their go-to-market time," he said.
According to him, employability quotient varies between educational institutions. The industry and educational institutions should work together to address the issue in this area. The company has tied up with couple of institutes to provide training in areas such as SAP.
