Deepika, hair & now - Times of India
  April 05, 2009
The pretty Deepika Padukone almost caused a stampede at the recently concluded Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, when she came to the venue to launch the first book of the Di Wills Series - Essence of Hair at the Salon Di Wills. Deepika, also the Fiama Di Wills brand ambassador, spoke to us after the launch. ''Beautiful hair is what every woman wants. I am sure it is on the Top 10 list of must-haves,'' she dimpled prettily, and added, ''Done right, a woman's hair is integral to her personality. This perhaps explains why women spend hours on getting it just right. But, in a world and time of so many choices, be it in terms of style, colour or treatment, knowledge about haircare is of utmost importance.''

Guess this was just the inspiration behind The Essence of Hair, for it is a book that sheds light on haircare and styling. Complete with beautiful images, it traces the history of haircare, right up to the latest in tress tools and styles. Topics like basic hair know-how, solutions for bad hair days and tips for special occasions make it an interesting, informative and visually appealing read. Also, the book is just one of the aspects that ITC's personal care business, which offers the discerning Indian consumer a host of personal care and grooming solutions, is all about. The Di Wills range also includes Essenza Di Wills, Fiama Di Wills and Vivel Di Wills. Essenza Di Wills is the exclusive range of perfumes and premium personal care products, whereas Fiama Di Wills is the premium range of shampoos, conditioners, shower gels and soap.
We also met Sandeep Kaul, chief executive, personal care products business, ITC Ltd. ''The Di Wills Series - The Essence of Hair brings on board the scientific expertise and research of the ITC R&D Centre on one hand, and taps into the experience and wisdom of India's leading haircare experts such as Ambika Pillai, Adhuna Akhtar and Sapna Bhavnani on the other. We would like to see this book as the ultimate haircare tool that all women look for but haven't got yet,'' said he.
