FICCI Outstanding Award for ITC
ITC Limited was presented the FICCI award for
  Outstanding Achievement   in Rural and Community
  Development at the 82nd Annual General   Meeting
  held in Delhi. Finance Minister, Shri Pranab Mukherjee   handed over the award to Shri Y C
  Deveshwar, Chairman ITC.
An exemplar in sustainability practices, ITC's
  businesses have created    livelihoods for 5 million
  people, many of whom represent the poorest   in
  Rural India. The company's rural  development
  programmes   currently support 6,500 e-choupals in
  10 states covering 40,000 villages   benefiting over
  4 million farmers, and 65 rural   development
  projects, operating in 50 districts across 11
  states   reaching out to over 1.85 lakh households.
It is the only company in the world to be carbon
  positive, water positive   and solid waste recycling
  positive. The ITC has put in   place
  multidimensional rural development programmes
  involving   farmers and local communities,
  co-creating a better  future. ITC's   e-choupal,
  watershed and agricultural development initiatives
  have led to   higher productivity, enhanced economic
  capacity and raised living   standards of rural
  people.
