ITC extends wealth-out of waste programme - DNA
June 30, 2013
Fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) major ITC Ltd today extended its 'wealth out of waste' programme to 12 wards of BBMP on Saturday. The objective of the programme is to create awareness among people on the importance of segregating waste at source and keep the city free from garbage menace. As pilot project, ITC has associated with the BBMP to extend the Wow Programme for rag-pickers and municipal workers in 10 selected wards in the city. The programme will cover households, offices, shops, educational institutions, malls, supermarkets, banks, hotels and hospitals. The pilot programme also seeks to ensure collection of post-consumer FMCG waste, which has today become a major source of litter in the city.
