Wills Lifestyle presents a spectacular Grand Finale

Ritu Kumar captivates the audience with 'Art-Deco' at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2013
The Wills Lifestyle Grand Finale by Ritu Kumar concluded the Spring Summer 2013 season of India's premiere fashion & trade event Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, held in New Delhi at Pragati Maidan today. ITC's premium lifestyle brand, Wills Lifestyle marked its collaboration with the queen of Indian haute couture with this remarkable show. Inspired by the popular Art-Deco movement, the dual collection was a juxtaposition of the old and the new.
A befitting theme for the Wills Lifestyle Grand Finale, the boundaries of traditional and modern were fused to create a new dimension in pret. The beauty and simplicity of Indian textiles that have been characteristic of the brand were interpreted with new age styling. This year, 'The Label' by Ritu Kumar denotes a significant transition from the old world charm of couture, to a more fashion forward, modern representation. The highlights of this 'new look' were the innovations in graphics, blazing color, romanticism, new techniques, unusual combinations of textures and forms in an Indian avatar.
Speaking on the eve of the grand finale, Atul Chand, Divisional Chief Executive, ITC Lifestyle Retailing, said "The Wills Lifestyle Grand Finale has always set new benchmarks in terms of showcasing the best of Indian fashion. The Grand Finale today was truly splendid and was a fitting tribute to Mrs. Ritu Kumar, her creativity and technique."
He further added, "The partnership with Ritu Kumar extends beyond the ramp. She has also created a special collection for the Wills Signature line which will be retailed from our stores across the country for all fashion enthusiasts."
The grand finale created a special experience for the audience through a creative presentation. The first segment started with an audio visual documenting the story of a garment that unveiled itself on the runway. The mood was set on stage with an ornate gate in the center of the ramp, equipped with LED screens and an alluring smoke curtain which made for a dramatic presentation. Kickstarting the next segment was a spectacular live performance by dancers that brought back the swinging sixties with their charming moves on stage. This playful segment then gave way to models sashaying down in free flowing and elegant silhouettes.

The audiences at the Wills Lifestyle Grand Finale were left spell bound as they witnessed a remarkable show by Ritu Kumar reminiscent of the stage performance of the yesteryears beautifully complimenting the novel collection.
